The RUIN Missions Benefit
This is huge because it involves what Christ calls "The Great Commission." Sometimes we approach church with a little commission mentality. But He says we are supposed to be a part of something great. We will be introducing what we will be doing with missions over the next 16 months and we're calling it RUIN. In other words, Are You In?
If you are in, it will change your priorities and ruin your life, but ruin it for the good.
On October 2nd, we had a fantastic benefit dinner. It costs $40 per person. It was a big ticket and the reason for that was that we have some very aggressive plans that begin now. And in order for us to be involved in the Great Commission, it requires us to get involved today. This benefit dinner helped launch and carry us through the end of the year.
We have chosen 6 missionaries that we will support fully next year. Not with $25 a year or a couple hundred dollars. We want to be able to support these missionaries with thousands of dollars to do the things involved with fulfilling the Great Commission. In order to do this it's going to take some work, sacrifice, prayer and obedience.
As our very special guest for the evening, we invited back Jennifer Jensen from The Daughter Project who is involved with rescuing young women who are being trafficked in India and Nepal.
